For a team already juggling DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, or other providers, a shared routing layer can be reasonable if it removes duplicated work and the fallback behavior is tested. GPTProto is one implementation of this approach.
Batch Video Generation APITest the look. Price the batch.
Generate product clips, ad variations, and short scenes with the video models that fit each job. Try a model on one clip, check the price for your exact settings, then bring it into your workflow with one GPTProto API key.
See how different video models handle the same prompt.
A good price means little if the motion, text, or subject breaks. Compare sample clips from supported models, then run your own prompt before committing a full batch.
A fixed camera on a single traffic light against a plain grey sky. The light starts red, changes to green, and then changes to amber, in that exact order, each colour holding for a clearly visible moment. No other objects, no camera movement, no cuts.
The same video idea can have very different costs.
Resolution, duration, audio, and input mode change the price and the request you need to send. Check those details before you queue hundreds of clips.
The Same Model Has Thirty Published Prices
Vidu Q2 Pro Fast sells 30 runs. At 540p and 10 seconds one costs $0.096, which is $0.0096 a second. The same model at 1080p for 1 second costs $0.064 — six times the per-second price, for a tenth of the clip.
Price your own batchEvery Vendor Wants A Different Request Body
One takes a first frame, one takes reference images, one takes neither. One accepts any length from 3 to 15 seconds; another accepts 6 or 10 and nothing in between. Wiring up vendor two meant rewriting vendor one.

Kling v3.0 Std runs 3 to 15 seconds, and switching sound on multiplies the run by 1.5×. Seedance 1.5 Pro doubles when audio is on. Both facts usually arrive from an error message, halfway through a build.

Video and agent workloads burn credits faster — the recommendation adjusts automatically as you switch scenario or usage level.
Spend less time managing video providers.
Test models and compare costs in one place, then use the right one for each job without opening a new billing account every time.
The whole migration is one field — same endpoint, same auth header, same polling route.
When a batch takes hours, job status matters.
Know how jobs are submitted, tracked, and retried. These are the details that keep a video pipeline manageable when a provider is slow or unavailable.
Route new jobs around an outage.
For models with eligible backup routes, new requests can be directed to another available channel. Check the job result before retrying any request that was already submitted.
Keep a clear status for every render.
Track pending, completed, and failed jobs so your application can decide what to retry and what to deliver. Available status behavior depends on the selected model endpoint.

Use the status information and support channels available for your model to spot failures and respond before a large queue piles up.

How teams use GPTProto for video work.
From testing models to fitting video generation into an existing production workflow.

I've been testing GPTProto recently, and it's honestly made my creative workflow much simpler. Instead of paying for multiple subscriptions, I can access several leading AI models from one place.

I turned this single prompt into a cinematic fantasy video using GPTProto. "Continuous 15-second cinematic shot, 4K resolution, hyper-realistic dark fantasy photorealism…"

I challenged myself to create a cinematic AI cooking short in just 15 seconds. I used GPTProto to bring the entire workflow together, from image generation to video, all in one place.

Made with Seedance 2.0 + GPT Image 2 on GPTProto. A Pixar-style commercial with the perfect glow.
What worked for me was pointing the cloud connections at GPTProto so the frontend only sees one endpoint and I just change the model name to swap. I am not rebuilding a connection from scratch every time.
I route the calls through GPTProto so a fallback is a config switch instead of a weekend rewrite when a model disappears. It turns "my default model just got export controlled" from an incident into a config change.

I used to switch between different AI tools just to compare results. Now I just use GPTProto. GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, Kimi, and more — all in one workspace.
I route the calls through GPTProto so the model id and latency land in one place regardless of which provider is behind it. The win is having the log schema consistent across providers.

I created this 15-second cinematic product video with GPTProto using Seedance 2.0, and I was really impressed by how smooth the workflow was.

GPTProto routes the character prompt and shot list to a top model on one API key: 20 minutes … voices it and burns in captions from the same key: 20 minutes.
Text, images, and voice are configured separately. You can keep OpenRouter for text and use GPTProto for visuals.
The call layer underneath the router is GPTProto, so swapping a model does not require provisioning a new provider integration. Changing models becomes cheap enough that the question stops being "should we change."
Pay for the video jobs you run.
Choose a top-up amount, then select a model and configuration. You can see the applicable billing unit and price before submitting a clip.
Enough for a first pass of short clips — enough to put a real invoice next to the spreadsheet. Top up $20+ anytime to unlock bonus credits.
The usual first top-up: render a week of real clips, keep the old provider as a fallback, and compare both invoices before you commit.
For pipelines already rendering daily. Bonus credits spend at these same discounted rates, so the bonus deepens the discount instead of sitting off to the side.
Straight Questions.Straight Answers.
Short answers, no sales talk. Every one of these is something a team wiring video generation into a pipeline has actually asked.
01Can I use this API for bulk video generation?
Yes. You can build a workflow that submits and tracks many video generation jobs using supported models. Check the API documentation for the submission method, concurrency limits, and status flow of the model you choose. A "batch" does not automatically mean hundreds of clips in one request.
02Is video generation billed per second or per run?
It depends on the model and configuration. Some tiers are quoted by generated second; others are charged per job or output. Open the model's rate card to see the billing unit, supported settings, and estimated cost for your clip.
03Why does the catalog price differ from the price in this estimate?
A catalog "from" price may refer to a shorter clip or a different resolution, mode, or audio setting. The calculator uses the configuration selected here. Always compare the same configuration on both sides.
04Do I need a separate API key for every video model?
No. A GPTProto API key gives you access to eligible models in your account. Models can still require different input fields or offer different generation modes, so use the selected model's request example.
05Can I generate from a product image or reference frame?
Yes, with models that support image-to-video or reference inputs. Select the mode first: image requirements, number of references, aspect ratio, and allowed duration vary by model.
06Can I estimate the cost before I submit hundreds of clips?
Yes. Choose a model and supported settings, then enter the planned number of clips in the calculator. The figure is an estimate; final charges can change with the actual configuration, live rates, and any retries.
07What happens if a video job fails?
Check the task status and error response for the selected model. A failed or interrupted in-flight render should not be assumed to resume automatically on another provider. Follow the documented retry and billing behavior before resubmitting.
08Can I switch models without rebuilding my entire pipeline?
You can keep one GPTProto account and compare models in the same catalog. When switching, review the new model's supported modes, request fields, duration options, pricing, and task-status method. Some application-level changes may still be needed.
