About

About This Midjourney Prompts Collection

Start with an image you already like, then rebuild it around your own idea.

A Daily-Updated Midjourney Prompts Gallery

Explore free Midjourney prompts collected from trending AI creator discussions and visual experiments across communities such as X. Each example pairs a finished image with the prompt behind it, helping you understand how different subjects, styles, lighting choices, compositions, and references shape the final result.

New prompt ideas are added daily, so the gallery continues to grow with trending aesthetics, creative formats, and practical visual concepts for portraits, product images, posters, fantasy art, anime, editorial design, cinematic scenes, and more.

Browse, Copy, Customize, and Generate

Select any image to open the full prompt and browse related examples. You can copy the prompt, download the example image, or choose Use This Prompt to continue in the GPTProto generator.

Your selected prompt stays in the generation box, so you can replace the subject, setting, color palette, camera angle, aspect ratio, or other details before creating your own version. You can also start from the generation box at the bottom of this page and write a completely new idea.

After generating an image, supported workflows let you continue from the same result and turn it into an AI video.

Text-to-Image and Reference-Based Prompt Ideas

Some Midjourney prompt examples begin with text alone, while others depend on an uploaded image or visual reference. Text-to-image prompts are useful when creating a new concept from scratch. Reference-based prompts are better when you want the result to follow the subject, composition, colors, or visual style of an existing image.

When a prompt requires a reference, upload your own suitable image after opening the generator. A reference guides the new result but does not guarantee an identical copy.

Tips

Tips for Writing Better Midjourney Prompts

Use the prompts in this gallery as starting points rather than fixed scripts. Keep the parts that create the look you want, then replace the variables that control the subject, scene, style, and output format.

  • Start with One Clear Visual Idea: Describe the main subject and what is happening before adding stylistic details. A focused concept is usually easier for the model to interpret than several unrelated ideas placed in one prompt.

  • Add the Details That Affect the Image: Specify the visual information that matters most, such as subject and action, artistic medium or photography style, environment and background, lighting and color palette, mood and atmosphere, camera angle and composition, and desired aspect ratio.

Prompt Formula: [subject and action], [medium or style], [environment], [lighting], [mood], [composition] --ar [ratio]

  • Keep the Prompt Focused: Longer does not always mean better. Remove repeated adjectives and instructions that do not visibly change the result. Use precise terms such as “macro product photography,” “soft window light,” or “bird’s-eye composition” instead of stacking vague words such as “beautiful,” “amazing,” and “high quality.”

  • Use Reference Images for the Right Purpose: Use an Image Prompt when you want a reference to influence content, composition, or color. Use a Style Reference when you mainly want to carry over the visual treatment, such as its medium, texture, palette, or lighting. Describe what you want the new image to contain instead of telling the model to copy or edit the reference exactly.

  • Place Midjourney Parameters at the End: Parameters should appear after the main prompt. For example, use --ar at the end when you need a particular aspect ratio. Keep a space between the prompt and the parameter, and avoid adding punctuation inside the parameter string.

  • Change One Variable at a Time: When improving a result, adjust one major element per attempt—such as the lighting, composition, style, or reference strength. This makes it easier to understand which change improved or weakened the image.

Midjourney Prompts FAQ

What is the Midjourney Prompts Hub?

The Midjourney Prompts Hub is a visual collection of prompt examples and finished images. It helps you discover Midjourney prompt ideas, inspect the full prompt behind an example, and reuse its structure for your own image.

How do I use a prompt from this page?

Click any gallery card or use the Random prompt button to fill the composer. Then hit Generate — you'll be taken to the Midjourney playground to create your image.

Are these Midjourney prompts free?

Browsing and copying the prompts is free. You can also download the available example images. Generating a new image through GPTProto may require an account balance or credits, depending on the model and settings you select.

How do I use a prompt from the gallery?

Choose an image you like and open its detail window. From there, you can view and copy the full prompt, explore similar images, download the example, or click Use This Prompt to move it into the GPTProto generator.

Can I modify a prompt before generating?

Yes. The selected prompt remains in the generation box when you continue to the generator. You can change the subject, clothing, setting, visual style, colors, lighting, camera angle, aspect ratio, or reference image before generating.

How often is the Midjourney Prompts Library updated?

The collection is updated daily with new and trending prompt examples found across public AI creator communities. Older examples may also remain available when they continue to provide useful styles or reusable prompt structures.

Can I use these prompts for image-to-image creation?

Yes, when a prompt is designed for a reference-based workflow. Upload a suitable source image and adjust the text to explain the result you want. Remember that reference images guide the generation; they do not guarantee an exact reproduction of the source.

Can I use Midjourney prompts with other image models?

Many descriptive prompt structures can also work with other image models, although the result may look different. Midjourney-specific parameters might not be recognized by another model, so review or remove unsupported syntax before generating.

Can I turn a generated image into a video?

Yes, when the selected workflow supports image-to-video generation. After creating your image, choose the video option to use it as the visual starting point for an animated result.

Will the same prompt recreate the example exactly?

Not necessarily. Results can change according to the selected model, model version, reference images, parameters, aspect ratio, generation settings, and natural output variation. Treat each example as a reproducible direction rather than a guaranteed duplicate.

Can I use the prompts and generated images commercially?

The availability of a prompt does not automatically grant rights to source images, recognizable people, copyrighted characters, logos, or branded materials. Review the terms of the model you use and make sure your references and final output are suitable for your intended commercial use.

Is this an official Midjourney prompt library?

No. GPTProto is an independent platform. This collection is provided to help users discover, understand, and adapt publicly shared Midjourney prompt examples.
